Waterproofing Is Only as Good as the Preparation Underneath It
Preparation is one of the most important parts of any balcony coating. Before anything goes down, we prepare the existing surface so the system can properly bond.
Surface Preparation, Not Shortcuts
On concrete balconies, we mechanically diamond-grind the surface rather than relying on acid etching or simple chemical cleaning. Weak surface layers, contaminants, and failing coatings are removed when necessary, so the new system bonds to sound material instead of to the problem underneath.
Edges, Railings & Thresholds
Balconies have more transitions than most surfaces: railing posts, wall edges, door thresholds, and drains. These areas are prepared and detailed by hand, because they’re where water most often finds its way in. We use HEPA-filtered dust collection throughout the grinding process.
Repairs Before Coating
Cracks, pits, and surface imperfections are repaired as necessary before the base coat is applied.
